But there is a WRONG way to do this. And if you're not careful, all your viral marketing efforts will be for nothing. Make the following mistakes when creating your mini ebook, and you'll be sure to fail and not see any results:

1. Never Include Personal Information You Do Not Want All Over The World.

Because of the nature of viral marketing, it will eventually spread everywhere in the world. So if you include your phone number, address, or email, be prepared to have your phone ringing off the hook 24/7, be prepared to have your mailbox full of unwanted mail, and be prepared to have your email full of SPAM and questions. 2. Never Directly Link to An Affiliate Product

You should invest in your own web hosting space for this reason: you always want to redirect affiliate links on your server instead of directly linking to your affiliate programs. Once an affiliate program you're promoting changes it's links or they go out of business, there's absolutely nothing you can do. You're commissions will just end. If this happens, simply change the redirect links to where you need them to go.

3. Don't Be Specific

Do not talk about limited time discount offers or "just released" products no one has yet because by the time your mini ebook gets to someone a year, two years from now, the information is going to be dated and you will only end up disappointing a potential customer.

When linking to external link in your ebook, always set the link to open in a new window/browser. Many sales processes use javascript that can cause a compatibility problem if launched within your ebook.
